Photographers refer to the hour around dawn and dusk as the Golden Hour because the light at that time of day is more appealing than at any other time. Images of actual sunrises and sunsets are clichés but still irresistable. But, looking in other directions, the colours are just as good, and that is where the best shots are taken.
