Night-time is enchanting for everyone, but for photographers it is especially delicious. It allows for astrophotography (which I merely dabble in) but generally long exposure time shots of many things. Judicious adjustment of white balance can make full dark captures look as if they were made in broad daylight but with an eerie appearance (look at my Midnight on Lord Howe attempt) but, on other occasions, I prefer to preserve the "taken at night" appearance.
